Patton Law is a boutique law firm focused exclusively on issues relevant to Family Law, Education Law, and Mediation.

Student Matters

We represent parents and students in a wide range of issues, including bullying, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, search and seizure, discrimination, disability rights (i.e. ADA and 504 issues), student discipline, and student record issues.  Our work spans all levels of education including preschool, elementary, secondary and post-secondary.

As a former school teacher with specialization in special needs and Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Claudette is highly qualified and understands the day-to-day needs in childhood and young adult education.

Many school systems have good intentions, but all too often they do not meet the standard of best interest of the child and student rights laws.  Especially in those instances, parents and students need to level the playing field in order to ensure justice and a reasonable quality outcome. Engaging our law firm is one way to respond effectively.

Special Education

We represent students with disabilities and learning differences. Our reputation for providing legal advice on all matters concerning the provision of special education services has earned us a strong reputation for being highly effective in the special education field.

Students with Disabilities

We represent children with disabilities to ensure they receive the free and appropriate public education to which they are entitled.  If a school district recommends a program or placement that is inappropriate and differences cannot be resolved reasonably, we vigorously pursue our clients’ rights and interests through due process hearings, and, if necessary, the federal courts.

In addition to serving as legal counsel to children and schools, we also teach special education law at education seminars and conferences, including updates on trends, issues, and legislation that impact the special education community.
